Can't jump over chasms

If you're experiencing problems jumping over chasms in Alto's Adventure, the problem is most likely to do with the timing of your tap.

The video below might be a familiar sight— in this case the user is trying to tap at the very very end of the jump but is slightly too late. This causes Alto to crash into the chasm below.

In order to get the jumping height you need to clear obstacles you need to jump earlier on the ramp, even the middle of the ramp will work to propel you to safety. Unlike other snowboarding or skateboarding games it is not necessary to jump at the very last moment. You can safely tap much earlier to get the airtime needed.
