Modified on Tue, 7 Nov, 2017 at 4:37 PM

Sometimes the Google Play Store can create some very strange errors and problems that are not part of normal operation. In these cases we've found that clearing the Google Play Store's cache can help to solve some of these problems.

Note: These instructions might be slightly different on your device

Steps to clear Google Play Store cache on your Android device

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Tap on Apps (sometimes called Applications or other things on some devices)
  3. Look for the "Google Play Store" app (not Google Play Services)
  4. Tap 'Force Stop"
  5. If there's an option for "Storage" tap on that, otherwise continue
  6. Tap on "Clear Cache"
  7. Close the settings and relaunch the Google Play Store
